Energy today
Managing the energy needs of Australia's fastest growing, most decentralised and energy-intensive state at a time of increasing international competition and concerns over climate change represents one of the most significant combined challenges for government, business and the community.
Through policy development and continual strengthening of relationships with Government-owned and private energy industry participants, Queensland Mines and Energy (QME) is helping determine how Queensland generates its energy, how we distribute sufficient reliable and cost-competitive energy to consumers and the significant role Queensland can play in the growing national energy market.
QME also develops polices that encourage private investment in Queensland, and supports, regulates and monitors the energy industry.
