Reticulated Natural Gas Rebate

In October 2007, the Queensland Government announced the Reticulated Natural Gas Rebate (formerly referred to as the gas pensioner rebate scheme).

The rebate scheme currently provides a rebate of $59.43 per year to eligible concession card holders in Queensland using reticulated natural gas. The rebate has been backdated to 1 July 2007, to assist eligible concession card holders to meet the increased supply costs of reticulated natural gas.

How do eligible customers apply?

To apply for the rebate, customers will need to contact their retailer and provide the necessary information to verify their eligibility.

Applications can be made over the phone or by filling out an application form which is available from natural gas retailers.

When do customers receive the rebate?

Once an eligible customer has applied for the rebate, and it has been processed by their retailer, the rebate is paid to them as a credit on their next bill.
