Residential Gas Installation Rebate Scheme

The Residential Gas Installation Rebate Scheme closed on 31 August 2009. The final deadline to lodge rebate applications with gas retailers was 14 September 2009.

Rebate overview

The Queensland Government's Gas Installation Rebate Scheme paid a rebate of up to $500 to Queensland homeowners installing gas appliances replacing electric, and some non-electric appliances, in existing homes.

Queensland Mines and Energy implemented the Rebate Scheme via arrangements with participating gas retailers, who acted as agents for the government to deliver the rebate as a credit on the homeowner's gas bill.
