Contacts

The activities of the petroleum and gas inspectorate range from inspection, approval and audit functions to safety lectures and the issue of occupational licences and authorisations. The inspectorate also operates a 24 hour emergency service and investigates accidents at petroleum and gas installations and in the community.

There are twelve full time inspectors based throughout the state.

The inspectorate operates an emergency call-out service in support of the emergency services. Gas related emergencies reported through the usual '000' emergency number will obtain specialist help to deal with the situation.

The inspectorate is the issuing authority for occupational gas work licenses and for authorisations for gas work.

Further information

The Chief Inspector and Deputy Chief Inspectors in the Brisbane office should be the first point of contact on legislation, policy and general safety matters. Licensing, technical matters and site specific safety issues should be directed to the relevant regional office.
