Geological Maps & Notes

The Department of Mines and Energy supplies hard copy geological maps.

These include most 1:250 000 scale and many 1:100 000 scale geological maps (PDF, 196 kB), and a range of 1:500 000 scale and 1:1 000 000 scale regional geological maps (PDF, 186 kB) (including the 1:2 500 000 scale geological map of Queensland).

Digital versions and GIS coverage are also available. Prices are available in the catalogue. To purchase, print out and fill in the order form (PDF, 109 kB), email the  Information Centre or telephone (07) 3237 1434, or contact your nearest Mines Regional Office.

Many geological and mineral occurrence maps can be downloaded from QDEX. These can be identified in an interactive list (PDF, 316 kB) or on an availability map (PDF, 171 kB).

Current coal and mineral tenure maps (Print on Demand) can also be obtained as hard copy. Prices are available in the catalogue. To purchase, fill out the order form (PDF, 35 kB), email the  Information Centre or telephone (07) 3237 1434, or contact your nearest Mines Regional Office.
