Native title and environmental issues

With all petroleum authorities, native title and environmental issues must be addressed prior to the grant of the petroleum authority.

  • contact Native Title and Indigenous Land Services on (07) 3896 3354, with questions about addressing native title after applying for a petroleum authority
  • the Environmental Protection Agency administers the environmental management and regulation of petroleum activities, so all queries with regard to environmental issues should be directed to this Agency in the first instance
  • the Environmental Protection Agency web site may also be searched for relevant environmental authority (exploration) forms for an authority to prospect application.
