Petroleum authority applications

An application for a potential commercial area, petroleum lease, petroleum survey licence, pipeline licence, petroleum facility licence or part 5 permission may currently be made in writing to:

Applications for an authority to prospect may be made at the address listed in the gazette notice, published by the Minister for Mines and Energy, inviting applications for an authority to prospect (a 'call for tenders').

All applications are to be made on the relevant approved forms and must be accompanied by the prescribed application fee.

Application fees for all petroleum authority types are prescribed in Schedule 9 of the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004, which can be viewed on the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel web site or purchased from Goprint.

Any application for a petroleum authority (except for a petroleum lease applied for or granted pursuant to the Petroleum Act 1923) must be made with reference to the requirements under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004, including the Regulations made under that Act.

The Act and Regulation can be viewed on the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel web site or purchased from Goprint.
