Safety alerts advise people about safety matters that they should be aware of and may need to take action on.

Petroleum and gas safety instructions

Safety instructions are important directions that must be followed to ensure to safety. Instructions 61, 67, 71, 76, 78 and 81 made under the Gas (Residual Provisions) Act 1965 have been incorporated in the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004. All other instructions made under the Gas (Residual Provisions) Act 1965 no longer have effect.

New safety instructions made under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004 will apply for a maximum of six months. This six-month period starts from the time the instruction is gazetted (not issued). An instruction can also be cancelled or replaced by regulation at any time.
