People management programs

Queensland Mines and Energy (QME) offers a range of programs and services to enhance career opportunities for all employees.

Encouraging further education and training
We encourage our people to move ahead in their career by investing in further education and training.  We support employees who are undertaking formal tertiary study or research projects by providing financial assistance and leave arrangements.

Sharing knowledge and experience
We have an innovative mentoring program which encourages the professional and personal development of participants, through greater knowledge sharing across the department. 

The QME Mentoring Program is a one-on-one relationship between a more experienced employee (mentor) and a less experienced employee (mentoree) outside the usual manager/subordinate relationship.  It's about supporting development, learning and growth by sharing professional and personal skills and experiences.

Counseling services
We have an independent and confidential counseling service available for QME employees.  The service provides short-term personal counseling to assist in managing personal and work related pressures more effectively.
